5STP2552L0014 is ABB 4500V 100mm diameter StakPak hermetic press-pack phase control thyristor, matched with dedicated double-sided water cooling mounting assembly 3BHL000986P3017 as a complete power stack. It forms three-phase full-controlled rectifier bridge arms when paired with matching freewheeling diodes, serving as the core voltage regulation device for large generator static excitation systems.
The solder-free ceramic sealed press-pack structure delivers excellent thermal cycling fatigue resistance; the device fails in short-circuit mode to avoid generator loss-of-field runaway risks in thermal power and gas turbine power plants. Stable 2500A continuous rated current supported by double-sided forced water cooling, suitable for long-term full-load operation.
Mainly deployed in 300MW~1000MW large unit GE EX2100 static excitation converters, also widely used in ABB ACS6000 medium voltage four-quadrant rolling mill & mine drives, wind farm grid-connected VSC converters and HVDC flexible transmission rectifier valves.
